Cowes
There are a number of very good restaurants in Cowes and it is advisable
to book during the high season.
We can highly recommend:
- Mojacs - This is run by a friend and has a very good wine list. Excellent venue
- The Little Red Duster - Sea food restaurant
- The Holmwood
We can recommend the following, which tends to offer more pub grub style menus.
Other Locations
All very pleasant offering a great selection of food:
- The
New Inn, Shalfleet - arguably the best sea
food restaurant on the Island
- Blacksmiths Arms, Calbourne Road, Newport - used to
do a mean German menu
- The Hare and Hounds
- The Little White Mouse
- The Chequers, Rookley
We have used these two local pubs and found them to be very accommodating and child friendly, both providing gardens for children.
- Travellers Joy, Palance Road, Northwood - free house for the discerning CAMRA drinkers
- Woodvale Hotel, Gurnard sea front
- Eight Bells - Carisbrook very reasonable pub grub
